Weekly Devlog: 8 of 16
Hello everybody, Kaiden here. We're at the halfway mark of our devlog journey, and we have some neat new things to talk about, as well as something new ones currently in the works.
Tutorial Level
We're currently working on a proper tutorial. It will be a short level that briefly explains the core mechanics, as well as explanations for things like the damage multiplayer and using your recoil to jump higher. In our tests, without giving much in the way of guidance, we've noticed players don't immediately understand how to control the player or how to tame the movement -- this level should give you all you need!
Upcoming Menu Reworks
This past week, we've been drafting new menu screens and transitions, such as the main menu, level select, options, level start/end screens and more. We have all the roughs done, and before long, we'll be fully implementing these into the game. Here are a few "rough" sketches:
What's Next?
We are also still working on some other necessary features, like having seamless audio transition between scenes. Tyro's friend is also working on the animations, so we'll update as soon as we have things to show there. We're excited to bring everything to a new build, and we hope to share it soon!
