Weekly Devlog: Week 15 of 16


Hey guys! It's Tyro once again.

Just wanted to say real quick that while yes, the "weekly devlogs" are ending soon, this does NOT mean development will cease on the game. Kaiden and I feel like there's a lot to go through still before we want to consider this game as finished. That being said, weekly devlogs themselves are likely to resume somewhere in January once Kaiden and I are back in college classes again. I myself will especially be working on the project throughout winter break, likely working on new or better levels along with polishing other bits and pieces. I personally hope to have a fully running version of the game with enhanced versions of the already existing levels, among other things.

That aside, I want to go over some of the progress we have for this week:

>Steam/gas vents
Steam and gas vents are columns of air that push the player(and bullets!) around while in their area of effect! Use it for some sick sidewinder shots, or for another way to sustain your momentum through the air.

>Projectile fixes
Before, explosive barrels would not collide like they should have with the projectiles. This has been fixed!

>New UI
Kaiden has been working a good amount on adjusting the User Interface, with even more plans for the player's weapons! While we don't have this part fully finished, we want to make sure the game feels uncluttered for anyone who plays it!

I know it's not a whole lot, and I probably could have dedicated a bit more time to the project this past week than I've been lately, but I want to mention one last thing: Animations. Remember when we announced that a big ago?

Well, our Artist friend, Hannah, has been hard at work creating the enemy reload animations, and I'm happy to say we should be able to implement these animations by the end of the year!(key word: Should. game dev is stressful, lol)
